KAILUA-KONA — Spencer Beach Park in South Kohala will reopen Saturday morning following a closure earlier this month prompted by swarming bees.
The Hawaii County Department of Parks and Recreation closed the park Oct. 15 to protect individuals from swarming bees after a large keawe tree collapsed in the park, according to a press release from the county.
The beach park will reopen at 6 a.m. Saturday, the department said Thursday. Lifeguards are on-duty from 9:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. on weekends and holidays.
